Tesco worker from Gwynedd who drank a 10 litres of Pepsi a day for 20 years says he has been cured of his addiction through hypnosis. 41-year-old Andy Currie from Bangor drank 30 cans of Pepsi a day for two decades, costing him an estimated £7,000 a year.

The supermarket nightshift worker from Bangor said he enjoyed the sugar rush he got from drinking the fizzy pop but the buzz soon became addictive. At the height of his addiction, Andy downed a litre of the fizzy pop every morning and drank a further nine litres a day.

He said: “I’ve always loved the taste of a cold Pepsi. Nothing could beat it and I just got hooked. I work nights so always liked the sugar rush to keep me going. I’d go through four or five two litre bottles of Pepsi every day.

“Because I work at Tesco I could just buy it straight after work and take it home.” It is estimated he has consumed 219,000 cans of Pepsi and nearly 8,000kg of sugar over the past 20 years, the Hull Daily Mail reported.
